The Computer
First up on our list is the most important, the computer you will be gaming on. The specs you will need are dependent on what games you have chosen to play. However, in general, you will need to find a computer with a 3.6 GHz i7 processor, an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD RX 480 graphics card, and at least 8GB of RAM.
Gaming Monitor
Now that your computer is picked out, you will need a high-definition 4k gaming monitor to see your game more clearly. Gaming monitors are usually curved, making it easier on your eyes and making the most out of the screen space available. Of course, you can use the monitor that came with your computer; this is just an upgrade you will want to keep in mind to make your experience flow easier.
Gaming Mouse and Keyboard
If your chosen game is a little more complicated, then a standard mouse and keyboard won’t cut it. A regular mouse uses optical sensors and only has three buttons. A gaming mouse uses laser and optical sensors and has around 11-13 buttons. A traditional keyboard is designed for general use, but gaming keyboards provide a better gaming experience by providing additional features and controls that you can program to perform specific actions.
Gaming Headphones
A gaming headset is not only essential for being able to communicate with your teammates in multiplayer games. But they can also be noise-cancelling, wireless, and have different settings features that you can personalise to your brand of virtual surround sound.
Portable Speakers
If you have your gaming space all to yourself and don’t want to wear a heavy headset, Bluetooth portable speakers are for you! As long as they are within range of your computer’s Bluetooth signal, you can use them to play music or to hear your game better than before.
Webcam
If you plan on streaming your game to platforms like twitch or youtube, then a webcam is essential. You can start cheap and work your way to the fancier ones, or you can start with a top-tier cam. It is up to you!
Gaming Chair
Sitting for long periods is what computer gaming is about. It would help if you had a comfortable place to sit that doesn’t make your entire body ache once the gaming session is over. A gaming chair is specifically designed to give your body comfort, and to be honest, they look pretty epic too.
Computer Desk
Now that you have all your gear, you will need somewhere to put it and play. A computer desk that matches your choice of decor is optimal for a gaming space. Make sure that your chosen gaming chair fits the desk because you don’t want to be banging your knees while gaming.
