The Faithfull Plane Set is a comprehensive hand planing solution, perfect for both professional carpenters and dedicated hobbyists. This set includes two essential hand planes, a No. 4 Smoothing Plane and a No. 60 1/2 Block Plane, designed to tackle a wide range of woodworking tasks. The No. 4 Smoothing Plane is expertly crafted with a robust grey cast iron body, ensuring both strength and stability during use. The base and sides are precision ground for optimal flatness and squareness. Machined seatings are incorporated to eliminate movement and blade judder, providing consistently smooth and accurate results. A lever cap with a brass locking screw securely holds the blade assembly in place while allowing for easy release for sharpening. The plane features comfortable wooden handles and guidance knobs, maximizing user comfort during prolonged use. A solid brass blade adjustment nut completes the traditional design and adds to its appeal. This smoothing plane has a cutter width of 50mm and an overall length of 250mm. The set also includes a No. 60 1/2 Block Plane, with the iron set at 13.5 degrees. This block plane excels in end grain work and is well-suited for use on plastic laminates. Designed for single handed operation, this plane features a low angle cutter and a fully adjustable mouth, enabling it to handle both coarse and fine shaving tasks, depending on the grain. It has a cutter width of 35mm and an overall length of 160mm. Both planes are housed in 2 durable zip up canvas carry bags, offering protection during transport and storage. Each carry bag features the "Faithfull QUALITY TOOLS" logo. The set provides the essential tools for wood planing, ensuring that you have everything needed to achieve a professional finish on your woodworking projects.
