Zirtek 1mg/ml Oral Solution is a medicine designed to provide relief from the symptoms of allergies such as hay fever and dust allergies. This oral solution contains the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride, an antihistamine that works by blocking the effects of histamine. Histamine is a substance your body produces as part of its natural defense system, but can cause allergic reactions such as a runny nose, sneezing, and itchy eyes. Zirtek is effective in alleviating these symptoms, as well as relieving the symptoms of idiopathic urticaria, a continuously itchy rash of unknown cause. This liquid solution is banana flavored and is suitable for children aged 2 years and older. Each 1 ml solution contains 1mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride. The solution also contains methylparahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propylparahydroxybenzoate (E 216), and sorbitol (E 420). When administering, please follow the dosage instructions: Children aged 2-6 years should take 2.5ml twice daily, children aged 6-12 years should take 5ml twice daily, and adults and adolescents over 12 years of age should take 10ml once daily. It is intended for oral use. Remember to store it out of the sight and reach of children. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult your doctor before use. Do not use the solution after 3 months from the initial opening of the bottle.
