Remember, Canesten Thrush Cream is an external cream and does not treat internal infections. Canesten Thrush Cream can be used by women, who should apply a thin layer to the affected area 2 to 3 times per day, along with internal treatments. Men can also use Canesten Thrush Cream, applying a thin layer 2 to 3 times per day and follow instructions for use. It is important to maintain hygiene by washing hands before and after using this cream. Users should continue the treatment for about a week after the internal infection has been resolved or for two weeks if you are treating a partner. If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, consult your doctor. Before using Canesten Thrush Cream, be aware of the potential causes of thrush, which include medications and antibiotics, trauma from sexual activity, the use of tampons, stress, using perfumed soaps and bubble baths, the menstrual cycle, wearing tight clothing, and pregnancy. To prevent the recurrence of thrush, avoid tight, synthetic clothing and perfumed products, and change tampons or pads regularly during your period. Always consult your doctor if you have had more than two infections of thrush in the last six months, if you or your partner have ever had a sexually transmitted disease, or if you are under 16 or over 60 years of age or had an allergic reaction to Canesten or any other vaginal antifungal product.
