Each 10ml dose contains 500mg of Sodium Alginate, 267mg of Sodium Bicarbonate and 160mg of Calcium Carbonate. It works in two ways: neutralizing excess stomach acid with a combination of antacids and forming a protective barrier to keep stomach contents away from the food pipe lining. This helps soothe the burning sensations in your chest and can provide relief for up to 4 hours. This medication is suitable for adults and children over 12 years old, with a recommended dosage of 10-20ml after meals and at bedtime. It is also safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Children under 12 years should only use this medicine under medical advice. The product is designed to provide long lasting relief. Gaviscon Liquid Aniseed effectively treats acid-related symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux, such as acid regurgitation, heartburn, and indigestion, which may occur after meals or during pregnancy.
