Van Zeller has deep roots in the history of Port wine — it was Cristiano's great-grandfather, working with Colonel Jack Rutherford of the UK, who helped pioneer the Late Bottled Vintage category commercially in the early 1950s. Their LBV was unfiltered from the start, bottled in the traditional way as a true everyday alternative to Vintage Port. That philosophy continues today: Van Zeller's LBV is unfiltered, decanting-worthy, and built to last.About This WineA full-bodied, unfiltered LBV from the Douro Valley, made from a blend of 15 indigenous Douro red varieties. Spending four years in cask before bottling, it develops the concentration and complexity of a Vintage Port while remaining approachable earlier. Decanting is recommended. Once open, the wine stays fresh for 2–4 weeks in good storage conditions.Tasting NotesColour: Deep, intense rubyNose: Elderberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, and cocoa with a hint of spicePalate: Full-bodied and concentrated with dark fruit, chocolate, and firm structureFinish: Long and warming with lingering dark fruit and a rich, velvety closeFood PairingA classic match for aged cheeses, dark chocolate, and rich desserts.
