Meticulously made from bush vines in sandy soil at 600 metres above sea level, the cool evenings and warm days produce great aromatics. The vines are hand-harvested and grapes cold macerated for 12 hours then racked into stainless steel and fermented using their own cultured yeast. Extended lees contact produces a rich, well-rounded, fresh wine with good length.
Le Petit Balthazar is produced in the Languedoc, one of France's most exciting wine regions — a sun-drenched landscape stretching along the Mediterranean coast where Merlot ripens to generous, fruit-forward perfection. This is a wine made for immediate pleasure: approachable, characterful, and great value.Bright ruby with a soft, inviting nose of ripe plum, red cherry, and a hint of mocha. On the palate it is smooth and medium-bodied with gentle tannins and a fresh, easy finish. Exactly the kind of weeknight wine that never disappoints — brilliant on its own or alongside a simple roast chicken, pasta, or a plate of charcuterie.
