Description:
Nothing short of a sensation, this little red wine has been a success story at WineOnline.ie over the past few years, such is its astonishing quality when price is considered.
A Portuguese blend of four red varieties, this is ripe and warm with juicy flavours and is amazingly food friendly. It's usually almost impossible to find this much character and pizazz in a wine at this price but this red is truly the real deal.
Tasting Note:A big smiling mouthful of wine; layers of smooth ripe dark fruits with rounded tannins on the finish. This will go down nicely with most red or white meats, grilled lamb chops, or baked mushrooms.
Food Matches: Roast lamb, grilled or barbecued pork, pasta, cheese and pizza

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Producer: Hahn Family Vineyards
Description :Since 1980, the Hahn family have cultivated their hillside vineyards in Monterey County which they purchased when they realised the land was destined for greater things than grazing cattle, sheep and horses. Today, Hahn Winery remains committed to crafting rich, supple wines which consistently over deliver on quality. They now farm 650 acres of estate vineyards and enjoy world-wide acclaim for their Cabernet, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Tasting Note: A bouquet bursting with notes of mocha, coffee, toasted oak, vanilla, black currant, and liquorice. Expansive flavours and the round viscous mouthfeel backed with concentrated tannic structure carry through to the smooth, lavish finish.
Food Matches: Fabulous on its own but matches extremely well with BBQ meat, chilli, beef roast, game and strong cheese.
