A first of its kind, Newgrange Gold is the first Irish producer to blend cold-pressed rapeseed oil with Ahiflower oil, a plant-based way to the same essential fatty acids. Derived from the seeds of Buglossoides arvensis, Ahiflower comes from a genuinely regenerative supply chain of its own, offering a complete and balanced omega fatty acid profile from a non-genetically modified botanical source. Both oils are grown regeneratively and blended at a rate of 10%, keeping the flavour mild while making the most of what Ahiflower offers. The result is a vivid, sunny oil with a delicate sheen, creamy on the palate, with gentle nuttiness and light hints of hazelnut, mild enough for salad dressings, smoothies, and other low-temperature dishes. Stir it through porridge or overnight oats, finish a bowl of soup once it's off the heat, or add it to a post-cooking drizzle over roasted vegetables or grains, to keep its delicate character intact. Or, simplest of all, take it straight off a spoon as it’s mild enough to enjoy entirely on its own. An award winner at the Great Taste Awards, this is an oil that's as thoughtful on the inside as it is on the palate, a genuinely delicious alternative for anyone following a vegan or vegetarian diet, without needing to compromise on nutrition.
