Country: France Region: Champagne Producer: Bollinger Delamotte is one of the oldest wineries in Champagne. Established in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, it is the “little sister” property to the legendary Champagne Salon. They share viticultural teams, as well as terroir. Delamotte Brut is a blend of a 55% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir from south-facing slopes on the Montagne de Reims, and 10% Pinot Meunier from the Valle de la Marne. Chardonnay sets the framework, Pinot Noir brings fruitiness and richness, and Pinot Meunier introduces aromatic charm. Following 30 to 36 months maturation sur lie after secondary fermentation, the wine received a light dosage. They combine in a wine of subtle power, appealing freshness, soft curves, and a precise, fresh fruit finish. This is a dry and extremely attractive Traditional Method sparkling wine, balanced and elegant. No need to age, this food-friendly Champagne can be popped anytime! “This wine is currently beating the pants off of most non-vintage Brut Champagnes from the region’s major houses, so keep this up on your radar. Straddling the line between light- and medium-bodied, it shows more aroma and flavor than one would expect from its “size,” and though it is quite expressive and fully satisfying, there’s still a classy sense of restraint that keeps this fresh and interesting for many sips on end. A Platinum Award winner at the 2019 San Diego International Wine and Spirits Challenge.”94 points, Wine Review Online, April 2019 “Based on the 2015 vintage and disgorged in 2020, the latest release of Delamotte’s emblematic NV Brut Blanc de Blancs wafts from the glass with aromas of citrus oil, mandarin orange, green apple, fresh bread and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and vibrant, it’s bright and precise, exemplifying the house style.”92 points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, March 2021 Description"A small but very high-quality house, located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs.
