This is a wine of real finesse, and is well worth cellaring, although it is superb now. The aromas are very youthful, shy and undeveloped, with some peppermint notes. The palate is refined and delicate, racy and alive, with marvellous acidity. Its tremendous intensity is most impressive.
Food: Simply grilled snapper.
A fresh, perfumed Garnacha with crunchy red fruit and touch of earth, black pepper and clove.
Rafael Cambra is a small producer located in the inland area of Valencia. His vineyards are situated in Serra de l'Ombria, on clayey-calcareous soils at 750 meters above sea level, with the influence of the Mediterranean climate.
Rafael Cambra's philosophy is to work in the vineyard in an organic way, and with maximum respect for the surroundings, to produce great wines with a marked varietal character and with minimum intervention in the winery.
Wine is fermented in stainless steel, with 10% stems. It is gently pumped over for around 12 days. The wine then spends four months in 1-5 year old French oak barriques, it is then transferred to concrete before bottling.
